Sunnysound Studio is a nicely-equipped one-room 8-track digital project recording studio located in Durham, NC and operated by guitarist Jason Barker. Specializing in good-sounding & reasonably-priced recordings, Sunnysound is ideal for people seeking an intimate, yet comfortable tracking environment often lacking in big commercial facilities.
Sunnysound is perfect for creating band demos, jingles, and other light-duty
projects not requiring the extravagances of large and expensive studios.
Sunnysound has previously produced audio which has been broadcast on FM
radio. Songwriters wishing to document their work in a non-intimidating
environment will love what Sunnysound has to offer. Sunnysound
is also an excellent pre-production workspace for those desiring to arrange
and demo their songs before working in a commercial studio. It's
a very simple and easy place to make music.
Studio equipment includes 8-tracks of ADAT digital recording, Mackie mixer, DBX Quantum digital multi-band processor, Tascam DAT recorder, Tascam CD burner & outboard duplicator, Rode & Shure microphones, AKG headphones, outboard effects by Lexicon & Alesis, and various direct guitar/bass recording devices. We also have Carr amplifiers on site (with more brands to come) for traditional amp-miking.
One unique aspect of Sunnysound which provides convenience and great sound, is the availability of Roland's remarkable V-Drums on the premises allowing for effortless and excellent drum recordings. Drummers won't have to lug big kits to make big tracks here. Keyboardists are also welcome to use our Roland RS-5 synth if they wish.
In addition to recording, Sunnysound can handle small volume CD duplication charged on a per-unit basis.
