1. Choose a user name and sign into the Chatroom on the Chat page.  Do not use spaces in your nickname.  If you are disconnected or have problems logging in, try refreshing the chat page and repeating the process.

2. When you enter the Chatroom, you should see your nickname and any other visitors in the left hand column of the room.  You can either watch the discussion...or participate by typing your message/question in the text box at the bottom of the screen.  Hit "enter" on your keyboard to send it.

3. To engage another user in a private conversation that cannot be viewed by the other participants, highlight the user's name in the left column and then click on "Start Private Chat."   This will launch another chat box for private conversation.

4. Please observe common courtesy and general etiquette in the Chatroom.  You can be bounced if these terms are not observed. 

5.  At the present time, the Steelbender Chatroom is limited to 10 visitors at a time.  If interest is strong enough in this service, capacity may be increased in the future.  If you can't log in due to capacity issues, keep trying because people routinely drop in and out of the Chatroom. 

6. If you want to surf the Net while remaining in the Steelbender Chatroom...you must either launch a duplicate copy of your browser or another browser to do this.  Closing the start page for the Steelbender Chatroom will result in your leaving the room.
